Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry is seeking an experienced professional to join a dynamic leadership team and lead the fundraising activities of a 47-year old crisis ministry in Eastern Catawba County. Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry is a private non-profit, United Way Agency, that has significant philanthropic support from the faith community, individuals, foundations and corporations.

Qualified applicants will have at least 5 years of development experience, be passionate about serving our neighbors in need of financial assistance, and have enthusiastic leadership skills.  Requirements of the job include working to engage a committed board of directors, growing the individual donor base and expanding an Annual Fund to support programmatic growth.

Responsibilities include growing the organization’s fund development program, implementing and designing a quality stewardship plan for donors, and an ability to develop key partnerships with staff and other agencies. Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Position experience and a college degree are required.  

Starting salary based on experience and job qualifications. Benefits include health insurance, vacation, holiday and sick leave.

JOB SUMMARY                

Fostering a culture of philanthropy within the community toward the organization, the Fund Development Associate responsibilities include growing the organization’s fund development program, implementing and designing a quality stewardship plan for donors, and an ability to develop key partnerships with staff and other agencies. Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills required.

The Associate will be skilled in development and maintenance of appropriate systems including donor management, research and cultivation, gift processing and recognition. The Associate plans and maintains a viable marketing and public relations program with an emphasis on building and maintaining donor relationships.           

This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, working with a diverse and ever-changing variety of volunteers, staff members and clients. Christian values, ethics, high idealism and a spirit of charity are critical as this position is the face and character of ECCCM.

This position will work in conjunction with the Executive Director and other administrative staff, the Board of Directors, the Development Committee, and any other fund development personnel, for the purpose of developing donor relations, annual fund development, and promoting ECCCM into the community.

This position requires confidentiality and high integrity. Ministry information will not be shared with unauthorized persons. Authorized persons are only those necessary for the daily operations of ECCCM under the direction and authority of the Executive Director or in the Executive Director’s absence the Assistant Director will be consulted. Ministry business, strategies, operating procedures, and methodologies are to remain confidential.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:                

To further the mission and ministry of ECCCM, all employees are expected to be a Christian, practicing high ideals and morals, and whose character will not adversely effect the reputation and image of the ministry. ECCCM employees work together for the benefit of the ministry, serving ministry clients who come for assistance in the midst of crisis. Through the mission and ministry of ECCCM, each employee extends the love and grace of God to clients, volunteers, other staff members and the community at large.

This position requires an experienced fund development professional with strong interpersonal skills, strong computer skills, experience working with online databases and other cloud computing systems, digital file management, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software, along with complete accuracy of data entry. Total confidentiality is expected.

Proven effective communication skills are required, both verbal and written, with experience in marketing, public relations, photography, press releases and general writing skills.

This position requires the ability to work as a team member for the mission of ECCCM and the community it serves.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires an experienced professional in fund development with campaign experience, relationship management, and cultivation of donors. This position also requires experience in coordinating with agency communication, marketing and social media activities.

·     Experience in personally cultivating, soliciting, growing and expanding the annual and major gifts as well as planned giving.

·     Experience in strategic planning and leading teams to fulfill associated measureable outcomes in philanthropy.

·     Experience in executing a target-focused philanthropy plan. 

·     Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously.

·     Proven oral and written communication skills.

·     Experience and ability to communicate effectively with external audiences.

·     Experience in integrating all aspects of marketing, communication, social media for the efficacy of developing donor relations and expanding active donors.

·     Possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence.

·     A personal commitment to, and passion for, the mission and the work of the organization.

·     Possess the ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

·     Proficiency and computer literacy with the Microsoft Office suite, donor databases and related programs.
